Yesterday (21/9) was the open ceremony of Chroma256b. It was held at CoDa and we (FID students) were invited to go for the ceremony. Chroma256 is an international colour project by Kevin Todd from University of the Sunshine Coast. And this time is the second phase of  Chroma256, so it's called Chroma256b. The purpose of the Chroma256 Project is to create an awareness of the complexity of our relationship and use of colour and to explore whether a standardisation is occurring due to computer-based technologies, both in terms of the internet and in the teaching of design, where software has also become international.

So, today (22/9), Mr Kevin had a talk at LT3 and he explain every single thing for his Chroma256 Project. He taught us about colours, colour wheel, CMYK, RGB, Journey Grids and also Concept Word. Not only that, he also tell us the history of computer and colour wheel.
I had gained a lot of information from this talk which it's so useful for a designer. From colour to pixel to computer and camera to technologies nowadays, I didn't know a single thing from the past can relate to present. This talk is so interesting that it never fail to make me awake and stay focus. His exhibition gave me a lesson that word can relate to colour and colour reflect by one's emotion. Different emotion can give us different colour. For example, Soul gives transparency kind of colour whereas Underworld has more dark colours that the other keywords.
