Kiyomizu-dera is one of my favourite temple which located in Kyoto, Japan. It was listed in the New 7 Wonders of the World because this temple was made without using a single nail! How impressive it is! How olden days people can build this kind of architecture without a nail while this temple is located on top of a mountain! It made me wonder...
This temple is built in the Heian period (794-1185) which means this temple has the age of around 832 years. There's this popular expression form Kiyomizu-dera. "To jump off the stage of Kiyomizu" in Japanese has the same meaning of to take the plunge in English. This is because there's a belief that if ones survive from the jump of 13m height Kiyomizu-dera stage, one's wish will be granted.
